Jane Ansell, Director of Sleep Scotland and TEENS+. Jane Ansell BSC, MA, CQSW, MBPS, Director of Sleep Scotland and TEENS+. Jane founded Sleep Scotland in 1998 and has continued to develop and extend the service counselling service offered to children with additional support needs and their families. She works closely with the Scottish Government, Local Authorities and other professional bodies to raise the profile of sleep issues in general and the impact sleep deprivation can have on families. She is an experienced sleep counsellor and lecturer with 20 years experience in cognitive and behavioural work. In 2006 she developed TEENS+, a new 4 year post school transitional education programme for young people with complex needs. Jane has a degree in Psychology and a masters in Social Policy. From 1992 to 1998 Jane ran the Professional Development Unit in the Department of Continuing Education at the University of Edinburgh. Jane has also worked as a social worker, community worker, and lecturer and manager in adult education. She is a parent of three children one of whom has complex additional support needs. |

Emma Vinnie is Sleep Scotland’s Counselling Co-ordinator. Emma provides support and information to parents, professionals, and to Sleep Scotland’s Sleep Counsellors and Local Co-ordinators. Emma has worked for Sleep Scotland since July 2000 and has worked in most parts of the organisation. Emma previously qualified as a primary school teacher and has also worked as an adviser for the Citizens Advice Bureau’s In-Court Advice Service. |

Karen Jenkinson is Sleep Scotland’s Training Manager. She is responsible for managing and co-ordinating the Training Courses and Conferences run by Sleep Scotland. Previously Karen worked in the Financial Sector in a variety of Management roles including Human Resources and Marketing. She also has an extensive background of voluntary work with adults and children with additional support needs. |

Jo is the Information and Administrative Officer for Sleep Scotland. Jo has completed an honours degree in Human Geography at the University of Edinburgh.
This role is an exciting opportunity for Jo, who is looking forward to gaining valuable experience within the non-profit sector and pursuing her ambition of becoming a project worker within a charity. |

Graham is the Finance Officer for Sleep Scotland and TEENS+. With over 30 years of accounts experience it had been Graham’s wish for some time to work for an organisation like Sleep Scotland that makes a difference to people’s lives. |

Gillian is Sleep Scotland’s Training Administrator. She is responsible for supporting Karen in developing and delivering the training courses and conferences run by Sleep Scotland. Previously, Gillian worked in both the financial sector and within social enterprise in a variety of administrative roles. She has also worked voluntarily with children with additional support needs in a number of capacities, and enjoys supporting the important work that Sleep Scotland does. |

Joyce provides administrative support to Sleep Scotland two afternoons a week. After completing her BA in Public Administration in China, Joyce came to the UK and has since obtained a Masters degree in Policy Studies at the University of Edinburgh. Joyce also works as an administrator for a leisure trust. Gaining experience with Sleep Scotland and not for profit organisations is seen by Joyce as not only fun, but an asset to her future career. Joyce hopes to continue contributing towards helping kids in need. |
