Sleep Counselling via Video Link
Sleep Counselling via video link was introduced in 2004 to offer families in remote and rural areas a Sleep Counselling service where one does not already exist. By using Video Conferencing technology Sleep Counsellors have been able to help even more families throughout Scotland with their additional support needs children’s sleep problems.
Q: What is Sleep Counselling via video link?
A: It is a Sleep Counselling service which is conducted via Video Conference linkup by specially trained Sleep Counsellors.
Q: Who is it for?
A: Families in remote and rural areas in Scotland who do not otherwise have access to a Sleep Counselling service.
Q: How does it work?
A: Sleep Scotland attempts to locate a Video Conference facility near you and makes arrangements for Video Conferencing sessions with trained Sleep Counsellors for you.
Q: How long does it take?
A: This depends on the severity of the sleep problem, but on average 6 sessions each lasting no more than 2 hours spread over 12 weeks.
Q: What is the commitment?
A: Parents need to ensure they attend all sessions booked for them and follow the advice given by the Sleep Counsellors. Parents will also be required to complete and send regular Sleep Diaries to their Sleep Counsellors.
