Senior Management Team

Gail Burden

Chief Executive Officer

Gail is responsible for all aspects of Sleep Scotland and Teens+ including strategy, governance, finance and staffing. Gail have over 10 years’ experience as a CEO and has worked in the charity sector for nearly 20 years. Gail has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with specialism in strategic planning, and is a Director of the Association of Chief Officers for Scottish Voluntary Organisations (ACOSVO). She has been a panel member for Children’s Hearings Scotland for over 5 years and is a Fellow at the Royal Society of Arts. Gail is passionate about helping children and young people achieve their potential and is active in advocating for the rights of the child.

Alyson O'Brien

Sleep Services Manager

Alyson is the Sleep Services Manager at Sleep Scotland. She manages our Sleep Support Line and Training teams, and supports our trained sleep counsellors to implement behavioural sleep programmes with children, young people, and their families.

Emma Jamieson

Centre Manager

Emma has been the centre(s) manager for TEENS+ for over 5 years. Emma joined TEENS+ with a background in youth work, early years, adult group work and parent education and support programmes. Emma is passionate about collaborating with stakeholders to enhance opportunities for the students to enable them to confidently reach their potential.  The greatest joy for Emma comes from seeing the students learn new skills and flourishing as well as celebrating successes and achievements together.

Graeme Tait

Finance Manager

Graeme joined Sleep Scotland in April 2018.

Following 12 years at the Blood Transfusion Service, Graeme moved into the third sector and has over 20 years’ experience in charity financial management. He has worked with a number of different charities, both as an employee and a consultant and has a wide breadth of knowledge.

Before moving into charity finance, Graeme also trained as a golf course architect and was involved in several course improvement projects in central Scotland.


Scott Moncrieff

IT Manager

Scott joined Sleep Scotland in January 2018 and looks after our IT team to ensure all our staff and stakeholders have a positive experience when using our infrastructure and systems.

Working in the IT sector for over 25 years within education and the third sector has provided Scott with the technical and managerial knowledge and experience to fully understand the requirements and future needs within the fast paced and ever-changing face of the charity.

Zuzana Beak

HR Manager

Zuzana manages the HR function, including Recruitment, Employee Relations, Learning & Development, Health & Wellbeing, Payroll etc. Zuzana is a trainer Mental Health First Aider and also a qualified Wellbeing Coach.
