Sleep Study session for paediatric medical staff, including paediatrician, GPs, health visitors etc. who are looking to learn about how sleep works and how poor sleep can affect children and young people.
This study sessions will give participants a good knowledge of sleep processes and physiology of sleep, and common sleep disorders in children including sleep apnoea.
This training course will give participants a clear understanding of:
Sleep processes and the psychology and physiology of sleep
Sleep disorders common in children and adolescents
How sleep disordered breathing affects sleep quality, and the importance of treatment
The benefits and limitations of pharmaceutical melatonin
The challenges that can face children with additional support needs when it comes to sleep, with a focus on epilepsy, FASD, autism and ADHD.
